Base Blend: 50% VG/ 50% PG 1000ml. PG/VG Bases are essential elements of D.I.Y E-liquids. It is vital to mix vape juice which is appropriate for your device. An eliquid base which is high in vegetable glycerine (VG) will quickly clog the high resistance coils of many vape pens and pod systems. On the other hand, e-Liquids which are high in propylene glycol (PG) are unsuitable for sub ohm coils and won’t deliver significant vapour.
These pharmaceutical grade bases are available in a variety of blends. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available for each of our bases. This is a document issued by Quality Assurance that confirms that a regulated product meets its product specification. Whichever blend you settle on, you will have an impressive 500ml or 1000ml of base liquid to work with.
About vegetable glycerine
VG is found in many products including make-up, toiletries and food. It is derived from vegetable oils and is a benign substance. Allergic reactions to VG are extremely rare. As some vapers experience issues with PG, bases which are high in VG can be excellent choices. VG bases provide smoother throat hits than those high in PG and they produce bigger clouds. Bases which are at least 60VG are most appropriate for low resistance (sub ohm) coils. But high VG eliquid doesn’t carry flavour well and its slightly sweet taste may impact your flavours. Vegetable glycerine is much thicker than propylene glycol and will reduce the lifespans of high resistance coils.
About propylene glycol
Propylene glycol is a colourless, odourless, synthetic organic compound. It is utilised in many consumable products. High levels of PG can irritate the throats of some vapers. PG may give you a dry mouth and increase your thirst, although these reactions tend to ease over time as you become accustomed to vaping. A high PG base mix will deliver a noticeable throat hit and will carry flavour well but will not produce huge clouds of vapour.
Finding the right blend
Your perfect base liquid ratio will depend on the equipment you have chosen, the resistance of your coils, your need for clouds and the impact of PG on your throat.
